After a couple big days of birds headed east, it wasn’t surprising that there was a big push west shortly after. 451 Broad-winged Hawks headed west today, most in the 3rd hour (11-12). Winds were strong out of the south most of the day and temps were in the 60′s. Not too bad on the Mountain. Today was by far the biggest flight of the year. Most of the birds went through in the first 3 hours (9-12) and after that numbers really dropped off. 32 Turkey Vultures [...]
